First 5 Miler, Slow As Crap Again

Did my first 5 miles in a long time. Slow as crap again. Wonder if I'm ever going to get faster. My current bane of existence is that damn beeping noise my Polar HRM makes when my HR gets over 145. I want to just kill it. I will give the MAF HRM running 12 weeks. If I do not see any improvement, I will just start running.
