Kings of Leon - Madison Square Garden - Jan29th, 2009

Having seen Kings of Leon open up for U2 (in front of not that many fans). At Irving Plaza, Radio City Music Hall and in September 2008 at Webster Hall. When I saw that they were going to play Madison Square Garden in Jan 2009, I knew that was a can't miss show and it was a can't miss show. You could just feel the energy, the band had finally made it back in the U.S.

It's great to see a band you've been following for 4 years hit the big time. Yes, its not as close and intimate as seeing them at Webster Hall, but there's nothing like a rock show with 20,000 fans.

Kings of Leon - Madison Square Garden - Nov 16th, 2010

You know whats great sometimes about New York City. The laid back attitude of concert goes. There nothing like showing up to a concert around 530-600pm and managing to get front row to the greatest current American rock band out there. 2nd time seeing them at Madison Square Garden, and they did not disappoint. Loved that they came out to Closer. That song is so interesting but still rocking.

It's amazing that I first was introduced to Kings Of Leon by seeing them open for U2 in 2005. Amazing to see them then and now. Unrecognized in the U.S. to selling out arenas in 4 years.

And I still think that Caleb looked like Elrond from Lord of the Rings back in 2005.

April 18th, 2009 - KOL @ Agganis Arena

I was running the Boston Marathon on Monday April 20th, 2009. I saw that KOL was playing at BU the Sunday night before. No way I could see that show when I had to run 26.2 miles the night before. So when tickets went on sale I hoped they might have a 2nd show.

And as luck would have it, I saw immediately when they released the 2nd show after the first show sold out on ticketmaster. I must have been the first person to buy tickets for this show as I got front row and center seats. Best seats I will probably ever have. And luckily the show was on Saturday night before the race.

Great show. Unfortunately, I don't have that great of a memory of the setlist, though I know they played King of the Rodeo which rocks.

2:58:42

Man, reading that last post makes me sound like a loon. Funny reading... Basketcase 101.. Well, as usually all my worrying was for naught and I had a great training period from Houston to Boston. Setting PR's at 4-miles (24:17), HM (1:26:54, during a training run) and 10k (38:49). I also blew sub-3 out of the water in Boston with a 2:58:42, that was rather easy. I left a 2:56/2:57 out on the course...

So where does this leave me now??? I hopefully won't become a loon again. I have more confidence now in my training, my body and myself... Who gives a crap what the damn HRM says now. I know now I can run fast....

Now I just have to avoid getting "SWINE FLU"... Oink, oink...
